Since the iPhone was released and the cats and mice game has started... some rounds for the cat (Apple), but most of the rounds were for the mice (iPhone Dev Team).
It has been a while since the iPhone firmware version 1.1.2 was released and no one was able to hack it. Just till today and after 3 days of Apple releasing the new firmware version 1.1.3. Geo Hotz has done it again, he hardware hacked iPhone with version 1.1.2; which means that a software hack will be released very VERY...

This the same time of the year where Steve Jobs -Apple Inc. CEO- hits his Keynotes on stage. In my personal opinion, I believe that Jobs is one of the best presenters in the world. I enjoy seeing him talk and present all new gadgets and stuff that Apple will roll out in 2008, I get really impressed by the methods he uses. He has such a magical way that convinces you that a garbage can is worth $1000, it's reasonable price for what you will get, you need it and must buy it.
I believe so, else...

I would have not imagined that there are some people ridiculously lazy to do the simplest things in their life. Check out this link: http://www.yamli.com/ Now, I can have a relief that Arabs and Muslims have delivered something tangible and worthy on the net. Basically, you just need to type the Arabic word in English, and this smart engine -apparently- translates it into Arabic, and also gives you more than one option for the word entered!!! Not a bad feature for the beta version.. yeah? p.s....

Now, it might be very soon that you get a request from your bank asking you to download an application on Facebook, so you can do some account enquiries. Or, you might end up invited to join a banking group where they can do Viral Marketing, with less efforts and minimum costs.
Check out this...

p.s. I don't know if you can still "poke" a bank or not, to either tell them I wanna loan or show them how much pissed off you are...

Steve Jobs is a smart man, and he knows he can't fight iPhone hackers for long, so he opens up his precious iPhone for third-party applications by releasing a Software Development Kit (SDK) in Feb 2008. Praises Mr Jobs. Well done. Now remove the locking mechanism and see how your precious little iPhone will take over the whole world. Just do it.

While Sony's playstation 3 is a commercial disaster compared to the Wii and the XBox 360, a clever scientist managed to glue 8 of them to act as a supercomputer crunching numbers to study gravitational waves. Details here

Guys, I have come across this webiste, that classifies all the techies pros and how to deal with them. I found it interesting, yet some poeple might find it more of steroetyping. Let us see which one do you belong to, if you like. I will start by myself: "Gender Agenda" :) Here is the original post:
- Human Bottleneck: These techies either demand to do all the coding, or never finish their work, or both. Impress upon them that quality is often the opposite of perfectionism. Also, feed them...

The iPhone/iTouch Dev guys have been hard at work for weeks and have finally managed to jailbreak 1.1.1. Right now, they're nowhere near releasing a general-use tool but the first steps have been made. Congratulations to dinopio, asap18, netkas, Martyn, mjc, Niacin, BloomFilter, pytey, tE_gU, pumpkin, roxfan, sam, SmileyDude, NerveGas, Nate True, Arminius, DirectriX, ixtli, kroo, and the rest of the team.
So what does this jailbreak mean?
* Third Party apps run. Kind of. We probably have to...

Apple says that they'll fight iPhone unlocking hacks. For those who unlocked theirs, enjoy it while it stands.
I wonder though, how the heck does Steve Jobs plan to do it? Sony keeps trying it with the PSP, and the homebrew PSP movement is stronger like never before. There is even a flourishing business practiced by lots of small shops around Bahrain to downgrade PSPs which makes them run pirated games. I last heard they charge BD 15, with a special Ramadhan rate of BD 10 :)
